Dressing Up Your Canned Cocktails This Fall

When October hits, if you are like the Crafthouse crew, you start thinking about Halloween and what your costume will be. But around here, you don’t just put on a costume and decorate your house for Halloween, you can also dress up your cocktails. Our canned cocktails take the work out of making the perfect mixed drink, but you can still have fun dressing them up. We make things super simple with our suggested garnishes on every can, allowing you to look like a seasoned bartender every time you serve a Crafthouse Cocktail.

Whether you are pouring a Crafthouse Cocktail for one or hosting a crowd, adding a garnish elevates your drink to the next level. When serving a crowd, it’s good to prep garnishes ahead of time. Using the correct bar tools makes all the difference too and helps to make you feel like a pro. A really nice sharp peeler or channel knife make it easy to perfect your lemon and orange citrus twists (no pressure when you do it ahead of time!) And slicing up some juicy lemon and lime wheels or wedges is a piece of cake with a bar knife. Everything you need to make the perfect garnishes including a beautiful walnut matching cutting board, is available in this set by Fortessa.

A “trendy” but easy garnish hack that we are loving, is dehydrated fruit garnishes. These are great to have on hand because you’ll always have them ready to go and they dress up drinks beautifully. They are especially nice for fall because of the warm tones of the fruit when dried.

When you go to garnish some of our favorite canned cocktails for Halloween, here are some fun fall and spooky garnish ideas paired with some of our canned cocktails:

The Gold Rush: The perfect addition to our favorite whiskey cocktail, add some “bloody” cherries with cocktail cherries in syrup, we love these ones from Traverse City Whiskey Co.

Paloma: When dressing up this tart tequila canned cocktail, instead of a salt rim, add a splash of color and flavor and rim the glass with Tajin. Or if you are feeling more sweet than salty, use black sanding sugar available here on Amazon.

Smoky Margarita: Made with mezcal, this smoky cocktail is perfect for Halloween and fall entertaining, just add a blood orange wedge for an unusual and spooky twist on the traditional margarita garnish.

The Moscow Mule: When you think of fall cocktails, it’s hard not to think of a Moscow Mule in a copper mug. To add an extra autumnal spin to this classic cocktail, toss in a cinnamon stick or some cranberries with a splash of cranberry juice to give your mule a bloody hue.

This fall, you can have fun dressing up your cocktails as much or as little as you want. All that really matters is serving yourself and your friends the best cocktails and with our all-natural, craft cocktails made with real spirits (not the spooky kind!) you can relax knowing we took care of that for you the rest is just extra fun. Cheers and happy fall!
